Students to National Conference
2020 Students to National Conference
Through the generous support and dedication of our members, we have achieved our 2019 goal of $30,000 fundraising to send students to the 2019 AAFP National Conference. We all know the importance of this project in ensuring a strong future for family medicine in Wisconsin. This year, we are excited to say that a total of 54 students from Wisconsin will be representing us at this conference.
As an academy, we have significant influence in determining the success of this campaign. In seven years of supporting this program, we have provided funding for 311 students to attend National Conference, and 73% of those students have matched in Family Medicine. That is an incredible return on investment!
But our mission doesn’t end here - It is never too early to start preparing for 2020! If you would like to contribute towards next year’s goal, any amount that you wish to donate is appreciated, and we have created several levels of tax deductible gifting to help the WAFP-Foundation send a student to the national conference.

Thank you to all those who helped support the 2019 Send a Student Campaign. Because of your generosity, we raised over $30,000 and were able to send 50 students to the National Conference. Please consider donating again for the 2020 campaign and help us to ensure a strong future workforce in family medicine.
The call for dedicated, caring family doctors in Wisconsin is more important now than ever before as there are growing concerns about the future workforce. In an effort to engage and educate medical students about the opportunities in family medicine, the WAFP-Foundation is aiming to send 50 students to the 2020 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students.
Attendees of the 2019 National Conference for Family Medicine Resident and Student Delegates share their experiences and give thanks to the donors that made their trip possible, watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggmTorXiBts
